This Saturday special transfers came.. unexpected but yeah I'm gonna be transferred to Matamoros tomorrow
and my companion is new and is from Argentina! Not sure what his name
is, I forgot! But it was super hard seeing all of my investigators show
up to church yesterday knowing that I'm gonna have to leave them all..
When I went on exchanges with Elder funk last week, we found a man named
Joel Flores and with this guy, it was obvious that the lord has humbled
and prepared him for our message. He told us that his church, the
catholic church is only a business, but he didn't have time that day to
talk, so me and Elder Echeverry came back another day and he told us all
his problems, how he doesn't go to church because its just a business,
how he hasn't had a job in three years (he worked construction in
Georgia) and how he hates living here because its so ugly and he was
about to go to the doctors to find out if his wife had cancer or not but
anyways he took our message really well! and yesterday he and his 4
children and wife showed up to church!! It was awesome!!
In the mission all the missionaries are gonna try to read the book of Mormon in two months
Also
last Monday I met an Elder who just got to Rio Bravo named Elder
Hancock and we were talking and he told me that I looked like his doctor
and so asked "who is your doctor" and he said Chad Parrish, haha and I
said well hes my uncle! but yeah hes from Salem and he said that he was in
the same ward as Chad and Merrie!! so that was pretty cool!
This
passed week me and elder funk completed 6 months in the mission and so we
each burned a tie haha not sure why missionaries do that but I said
what the heck and burnt a tie that a old investigator that never came to
church gave me haha.
Things with rocio have
been pretty bad... she hasn't been coming to Church in like three weeks
and we've been visiting her and shes shared with us that's shes been
looking on the Internet! my gosh the Internet is full of nothing but
crap! she has lots of doubts now! its hard.. but we were in a lesson
this last week, reviewing the Restoration and out of nowhere she asked
whats the name of god and she told us how she thought that Jehovah was
god the father and after sharing a couple scriptures that explained that
Jehovah is Jesus Christ, I think she got offended by that because she
stood up and laughed and walked inside and left us.. haha me and elder
echeverry just looked at each other all confused and then we left..
Ill talk to you all this Sunday! cant wait!
