It was so good to see you all last night! you all look so
great! and sorry i forgot to say, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! mom and grandma
berry and Parrish!! I love you so much!! thanks for all you have done
for me in my life!! but wow cant believe that the second phone call home
has already passed!! seems like we just talked Christmas! and before we
know it we'll be talking again Christmas!!
So
yeah This week I was transferred to Matamors! it was hard leaving Elder
Echeverry and Rio Bravo! but he's gonna take care of all our
investigators There and get them baptized!! but the day where we had to
leave, we were waiting for the bus to come pick me up and it was taking
forever so I decided that I would go buy tacos with another elder off
the street... bad idea! First time that I've got sick on the mission!
first day here in matamoros and I'm throwing up in the street and again
in the house later in the night... so yeah I wont be buying tacos off
the street again!
On Saturday
we had a baptismal service! Elder Barrera baptized a girl that him and
his last companion have been teaching, Elder Acevedo and Gutierrez
Baptized their Investigator and I was asked to Baptize a boy who just
turned 8 whose dad lives on the other side. (by the way that's how they
refer to the US, the "other side") but yeah it was awesome! Great
experience! Hoping that alot more of those will be coming in the future!
The
elders that I'm with are awesome! great guys! Elder Gutierrz, from
Idaho, has like three months less than me and we went on exchanges the
other day and it was quite the experience! two greengos out and about
walking the streets of Mexico. Elder Barrera is from Argentina! and
Elder Acevedo is from Chile!
Ive been reading
the BOM like crazy because I want to finish all of it in three months!
I'm reading it in Spanish! I think reading is probably the easiest thing
for me right now out of speaking and understanding but I know the book
of Mormon is true!! Like Elder Holland said, "No wicked man could write
such of book as this and no good man would write it, unless it were true
and were commanded of God to do so." It is so true! Joseph smith was a
prophet and our church is lead by a living prophet, Thomas Monson! I
know those things for myself!
