Reynosa Mexico Mission: April 27, Going On Exchanges with Elder Holland!

OK so this week was awesome! Yesterday we had 9 investigators come to church!!!! And like Hollie I spoke too!! and I spoke about the plan of salvation also!! how awesome is that!!? but the best part was we had 9 investigators!!! can you believe that!! and before I say anything about them, I'll tell you a little about Mexico this week! First of all, its like already way way hot! hotter then any temperature that I have experienced in Utah! I think that's because its so humid! but everyone says that this is nothing compared to whats coming.. the "Canicula" .. so yeah I'm kinda scared for that! but I do got some nice tan lines on my arms haha! also on Friday night, I had just falling asleep for like five minutes when my companion woke me up all scared because the weather was crazy outside!! it was POURing rain! I've never seen anything like it! and the lightning was just crazy! and the power was out so we didn´t have our fans so it was like deathly hot to sleep!!! it was also really windy and the next day one of our investigators told us there was a tornado! ha not sure if that's true but it was really windy! and yeah we basically thought that it was the second coming!!

OK so the familia Rojas who we´ve been visiting for like three weeks now finally came to church yesterday!! we had a lesson with them the night before about keeping the Sabbath day holy and when we asked them to come to church the next day, the mom was like no doubt we´ll be there!! but the dad was planning on going out with his buddies to play beisbol so he said that he wouldn´t be there.. but the next day the whole family rolled up, even the father, and I asked him "hey I thought you were gonna go play baseball!?" "yeah I was!" he said kinda angry! and so I laughed because I think we all know who has control in that house! haha but yeah they enjoyed it!

Also we got a reference from other investigators and they are the familia de leon!! there is no husband in the house, just the mom and two daughters and like 4 grand kids! just the mom and the older daughter came to Church yesterday, with a couple grand kids (that were crazy) but the mom is golden! she is set on being baptized!! and her older daughter too!! its awesome! and they even made friends yesterday in the church!

also we had another investigator, Albino, come for his second time yesterday!

This week we had a lesson with a family that is just awesome! the father wasn´t home so we decided we´d come back the next day and teach him the Restoration! and he just blanched on us!! everything we taught he just shut it down! telling us that Joseph Smith was a false prophet and all kinds of stuff! and he was so sure about everything he said! I've never felt so shut down in my life then after this lesson! it was really offending to me to think that he just shut down everything that my parents have taught me all my life of which I know to be true! so after I was day dreaming about going on exchanges with Elder Holland! haha but all I can say is that Joseph Smith was a prophet! We watched the Restoration for a noche lugar last night with some members and investigators! and there is no doubt in my mind that he was a prophet! you should of heard some of the comments these investigators were making about him! its really a testimony builder when you hear them saying that they knew he was a prophet! the spirit was really strong after!!
