I hope that everyone at a great christmas! It was fun
skyping and being able to see of a yall! I ate ALOT of food on Christmas
eve! I thought I was going to die! Here it felt more like Christmas on
Christmas eve because of skyping and all the food and partying!
Christmas day was just another normal day! We attemped to go and give
lessons but nobody would let us in haha It was a long day! I also had a
great birthday! All the missionaries surprised me with cake and ice
cream at the end of the day last monday! and Thanks for all the birthday
wishes Everyone! This week, nothing too much was different! The coolest
experience was yesterday. Yesterday was another one of those days where
either nobody was home or they didn´t want to come out and listen. And
after like the 5th time yesteday, i asked in my heart "please heavenly
father, please have somebody Let us in and listen!" and then we went to a
lady named Isabel, who we contacted about two weeks ago, and her
husband came out and said "she isn´t here" I said in my mind "youve got
to be kidding me" but then something awesome happened! we told him who
we were and he was like "well, do you want to come in and share a
message with me?" and then my jaw dropped and I said very quietly "god
is real" and the lesson ended up going really well! I cant wait to go
back and teach him more!
Also, this week, I read the talk by
president ukdorf "Lord, is it I?" and It was awesome! Something that I
got from it was that often we have dufficult times seeing ourselves as
we truly are, we try to avoid looking deeply into our souls and
confronting our weaknesses. Sometimes we give ourselves excuses to
justify unworthy thoughts and actions. We need to be willing and humble
to learn and change; to want to improve and progress, to learn of the
savior and desire to be like him. And if we dont, we will probably begin
to wonder if the church has anything to offer us. So i hope that we all
can put aside our pride and in humility ask, "Lord, is it I?" Is it I
that has faults or weaknesses that can be made strengths? Or sins that
need to be washed through the atoning blood of our thee? We need to look
deep into our souls, being honest with ourselves, and see if our hearts
are set on the things of this world or of the teachings of our savior!
