This week I worked a little with elder Salazar from Spain, and we were out tracking when we found a man, christian, who lets us come in to share our message. when we got in, his wife and daughter were also there so we sat down, got to know them a bit, and then started the lesson. The first thing they asked was, "you guys aren't Jehovah witnesses are you?" "No, were from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!" because they didn't want anything to with them. This lesson was going great!! we explained everything really carefully and in unity. I felt the spirit testify to me that the things we were teaching are true. Because they were strong in a christian church, they had lots of questions about the prophets. we helped them understand from Amos 3:7 "the lord god will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." we go on and explain the apostasy and then the Restoration and they understood everything perfectly and why we need a prophet and that Joseph Smith was called to restore the Church. and then... we pulled out from the back pack... the book. of. MORMON. hahaha and nombre this christian lady wouldn't even let us explain. She just started screaming at her husband, "Their Mormons!! we should've known! Their Mormons!! this whole time they've been talking about prophets!! we don't need that book we already have the bible and the bible is everything that book is of the devil!!!" So we just testified saying that we read that book and we knew it was the word of god, we asked god and he responded through the power of the holy ghost." and then we got up and left and as we were walking out the husband says, "stop confusing the people!!!" ha ha I felt really humble and I felt the spirit as we were walking out because I knew that we had done our job by testifying. but its funny because that lady almost quoted 2 Nephi 29:3 word for word "a bible! a bible! we have got a bible and there cannot be anymore bible!!"
Scripture that I liked this week: 2nephi 4:34
34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my tr ust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that pu tteth his trust in the arm off lesh. Yea, cursed is he that p utteth his trust in man ormake th flesh his arm.
