This passed week had to have been the best week of my mission! On my birthday we were getting ready to go on an exchange and when the elders got to our apartment, I came out to let them in but back behind them in the street was a couple familiar people. Ended up being my converts from Valle hermoso!!! seriously made my day! they drove an hour and a half just to bring me a cheese cake pie!! The best part was that Berenice is preparing to serve a mission and luis her younger brother had quit his job so he didn't have to work on Sundays so he could get baptized and is also planning to serve a mission!!!! how cool! Later for lunch the sister made us waffles with peaches and cream which is my favorite! almost as good as moms!! There is a Mexican tradition where you gotta take a bite with no hands on your birthday so they made me do that!
Christmas eve we spent at the Familia Rincons house! we played board games and just sat around and talked with each other! The food was really good! Last year on this day i still remember was the day that i ate the most in my whole life! haha it was so bad so i made sure not to do that again! Christmas morning we all woke up and opened all the presents that our families and friends had sent us! super fun and excited! Thank you for all that you sent me! Me also used the Lehi Roller Mill Mix and made so butter milk bannana pancakes! SOOO good!!! us four elders sure knew how to make Christmas awesome despite being away from the familiy! The best part of that day of course was getting to see and talk to everyone!! Man i love you guys so much! I got the best family ever!!
We had the Baptism of Jonathon on Saturday! He is the last one in the family santos to be baptized! So we have officially baptized a family of 6 hah even though each one got baptized in a different week! I want to be able to find a family of 9 to baptize! But yesterday in church Ricardo blessed the sacrament, and he also ordained his step son to the office of the aronic priesthood!! and then Amauri passed the sacrament! so super awesome to see that!! next week we want all three brothers and the step dad passing and blessing!
After the baptism on Saturday night my companion turns to me and says, "well elder berry we finished off with 11 baptisms in our district this month and that just doesn't happen very often!" and jokingly i said back, "hey what are you talking about the month aint over! were still gonna have more!!" haha and we sat there and thought, "well i guess that is actually possible" so we went home and we thought about some people who have been coming to church and that haven't been baptized yet and than we said a pray asking god to perform a miracle for us the next day! so Sunday came and the lady that we were thinking about didn't end up coming to church so we couldn't baptize her BUT there is one girl that had a date for the 9th of January and we pulled her out of class and asked her if she felt ready to get baptized and she said "YESSS!!!" waahoooo:) There was already going to be a service of another ward so we just joined in with them and baptized this girl!!! so this month we were "bautizona" which is the zone with the most baptisms with 19 and also my distict was "bautidistrito" we finished with 12!! I love the mission! and i love baptizing!
Family I grateful for all the love and support you have giving me! I love you all! so glad to see that Christmas was awesome! hope you have a happy new year!
