This passed week we had transfers and my new companion has been Elder Hanson from San Diego. Hes got about 6 months in the mission and is good worker! I love this ward here. I'm in the area right next to the ocean (we aren't permitted to go there) and there is just a million houses to contact! in valle hermoso I'm pretty sure I contacted every house a couple of times so I've been pretty excited in this area.
Then Saturday night when I was reporting, the elder says, "OK Elder you ready for the transfers?" ha I was like, "uh what? we just barley had transfers!" haha anyways I'm headed over a cross the street to the area right next to this one. This will have been my fourth area here in Matamoros. my mission call should have said "mission Mexico Matamoros" since I've never been to Reynosa.
There was a family here that I met this passed week who have been coming to church for a while but haven't been baptized. I found that the problem was the husband has a bad drinking problem. I told him that if he would end this habit, they would be the happiest family. I could really see how the wife has just been heart broken. But he told me, "I just cant do it my body needs alcohol." I shared with him a scripture that I have been ponderizing this week in 1 Cor 10, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I'm grateful for another week where I could better myself as a person and as a missionary. I'm thankful that I have plenty of time to keep getting better. I've learned so many treasuresous things in this time I have. Grateful that it was a great week for all of you at home.
