Dear Family,
This week i was able to meet my new president, president Regalado. He is
super awesome, hes like 5 feet tall but hes got a ton of excitment! In the
misión weve got a ton of phrases for example, "puro bautizen" (pure
baptism) and "Bautizone" (the zone with the most baptisms) and president
Regalado has brought in a new one, "Zona Celestial." He talked about two
diferent types of zones, "a harvesting zone" and "a celestial zone," a
harvesting zone is that which picks up "the easy" so it might have 10 or 15
baptisms a month, while a celestial zone goes above and beyond and reaches
its full potential wich would be 25, 30 or more baptisms.
He was a bishop in the ciudad de mexico before be called the president and
he used an example of the fast offerings of the members in his Ward. There
were many who werent really willing to give much to the lord, 20, 30 or 40
pesos. He said, "how is it that you would have only spent 20 pesos on food
for a whole day?" 20 pesos is a Little more than a dólar right now. Its a a
faithful person because he is obeying the law of fast, but he is not giving
his all to the lord. He asked the missionaries, "what is your offering to
the lord? 30 or 40 pesos?? or is it 200 or 250 peso offering?" (Refering to
the amount of effort we are willing to put into the work) obviously we are
all sons and daughters of god, so we all have a celestial potencial, which
would be our "full potencial" so a zona celestial reaches its full
potential. That Is our goal this month in my zone, to be a celestial zone,
with 30 or more baptisms. Weve already got 10! and weve got about 13
posibles this week!
*Family Sanchez. *Ive noticed that i havent done the best job of presenting
my investigatores to you guys in my emails but this week we found a single
mother of two named Rocio. Her husband left two years ago to work in the US
and his visa expired so if he comes back, he aint gonna be able to go back
over. so she has a Little over two years taking care of the kids on her
own. She has a son that has 9 years and the other has like a year. Anyways
from the momento we contacted her, we new she was chosen. And i dont
usually like to say that because alot of the times they dont end up being
chosen but there was just a diferent feeling we had when we taught her. She
doesnt have any problems that would prevent her from being baptized, and
she came to church yesterday, so we have a date for this saturday!
*Paula. *When we were teaching Dinora and Berenice about 9 months ago,
berenices friend paula was often times there. we gave her a book of mormon
but i remember that she didnt really want anything. But we've been working
alot latley with her, she sitll hasnt accepted a date but she is going to
church, Reading and praying. So i hope she will recieve and answer in the
next week or two. Berenice is on fire! she is doing alot of the work,
making sure that she gets to church and that she is Reading and praying!
Future missionary right there!
anyways, the time is going by really fast! Im really liking it. I got kinda
trunky when Johnson, webb and Saunders all left! haha but its all good.
President Morales always sent the missionaries home a month early to not
have any problems with visas but it sound like president regalado is asking
alot of missionaries to extend. He is coming to valle hermoso to interview
us all this week. So we'll see what happens. I really want to be home in
time for the hunt but... who knows. Ill probably be able to give you a
date next week!
