May 16, 2016 Loving to Live the Gospel

Dear Familia,

Another successful week! I wish you could have seen what happened in sacrament meeting yesterday! So like you know, when I first got to this area, it was dead! There was nothing! There are three companionship of missionary's in this ward, and each companionship confirmed three people in sacrament meeting! We've had 15 new converts already this month!! We have really seen the hand of the lord these last couple weeks! I think what we changed is our attitude. We realized that the field really is white and ready to harvest. There are people that have already been prepared from before and we've really just focused in on finding them, teaching them repentance, baptizing and confirming.

I was reading in the ensign from February this week and I really like an article that talked about four different groups of people in Leh's dream.
Group 1
There were those who didn't pay any attention to Lehi's cry and just went straight for the great and spacious building. These are those who never accept repentance and baptism.
group 2
There were those who grasped the iron rod and entered the path but when the mist of darkness came, they let go, went astray and were lost. These are those who are baptized but never Study the scriptures, pray, attend church, nor study the words of the living prophets. So they are quick to give in to the temptations of Satan because they don't have that spiritual Armour.
group 3
There were those who entered the path, grabbed on to the rod, arrived and tasted the fruit of the tree but were disappointed and later went astray and were lost. These are those who only have the intention to study when crisis happens like the death of a loved one, or when they have to give a talk. They're at church but not actually getting all they can out of it. They never came to know their lord.
group 4
And there were those who were constantly holding on to the rod, they arrived and tasted of the fruit and were joyful. These our obviously those who are constantly living the gospel. They study the scriptures, they pray, they study the the conference talks, they attend church and get all they can out of it!

the biggest thing that I want to take from the mission is just loving to live the gospel. Developing a love for studying the scriptures, Ensigns. And instead of thinking church is boring, changing my attitude and really going with the intention to learn and know what I can change to be better. I really have found that learning the gospel is a joy. I really hope that I'll be able to keep that fire burning after the mission. I really don't want to belong to group two or three.

Something that I really admire about my companion is how selfless he is. He may be dead with only a couple weeks left, but he really knows how to make people feel good and is really sharing, it's something that I really want to develop.

Miriah Happy Birthday!! I hope you have had a great day! When I get home I'll take you to roxberry for your birthday! Mom happy birthday tomorrow!! have a great day! Love you!

Love you all
