April 11, 2016 - I became more grateful for the Restoration.

Dear Family,

We had lots of success bringing investigators to the church this week! We brought about 6 kids that live in our neighborhood and a mother with her son and also another humble man named Tito! We're teaching a couple of punk kids who think they are living the life, when they really aren't. We taught them that they can keep living how they are and in 25 years end up as a drunk, divorced and without a home OR they could make changes now, start going to church, get baptized, go on a mission and have a happy life with a happy family. I pulled out the picture that you just sent me mom of the family at the wedding. I said, "look this is an example, my brother decided to make changes early in his life, go on a mission and now he is a futbolista in Hawaii, married and a doctor." (Brady I made it sound like you are super loaded haha) and it really got to these kids!! It got them thinking about their future and not just the present. We're planning on baptizing them this week!

Yesterday I bore my testimony in two different churches.

First: in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I got up at the very end and right before getting to the pulpit the first counselor said "hey be very brief!" so i said, "brothers and sisters (with a deep breath) I know that this is Jesus Christs church (with a smile) in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Second: in the Pentecosts. Me and my companion got invited by a lady to her church and we went. All i can say is it was a testimony builder. Although we probably shouldn't have been wasting our time there, I became more grateful for the Restoration. I know that we have the truth. they gave me and him a chance to pass to the front to talk and I just bore my testimony about god and Jesus Christ and the holy ghost. and after testifying we quietly walked out the back and kept working.

This week I've been studying a little in this book, "The Infinite Atonement" by Tad Callister. I learned how Jesus has the power to resurrect, save from spiritual death and to exalt. To do that, it requires infinite power. In the scriptures it clearly states that it would have been impossible for Jesus to resurrect us, and bring us back to the presence of God if he would of not performed an atonement. He received that power after the infinite sacrifice that he made. In life it seems that when we give, we receive. For example, when we give away love, we become more loving. When we give away knowledge, we become smarter, etc.. The atonement required infinite love and so only someone who had an infinite amount of love could do it. And he gained this infinite love because he is the only one who has gave up all that he has. It would take a lot of love to leave a celestial throne to be born into a poor family with nothing. It would also take a whole lot of love to be able to pay the price of sin, transgression, and to take on the pains and sicknesses of every single person even the people that hated and reject him, even the very people that crucified him. Nobody has that power but him and for that, he was the only one capable of performing the atonement. And an atoning sacrifice gives him power to resurrect, to bring us back to gods presence for judgment purposes and, if we repent, to exalt. When we give, we gain. sacrifice is the grandest way to gain more love and this is how we become more like him.

thank you for the love and support
I love you
