First week here in Reynosa! I finally feel like I'm in mexico!!! This place is a lot different than Matamoros! But I'm really liking it. The ward is TINY! its like one family and that family has like 20 people. Elder Lopez is really cool! Hes got 21 months in the mission so he is really working hard since hes only got three months left! He is from Chiapas which is the state at the very bottom of Mexico. So I'm in Reynosa Centro. Right next to the River! Also The offices are here close so packages will get to me super quick;)
Also, as Elder Saunders predicted, I got sick the third day being here haha. Elder Saunders when he left Matamoros to Reynosa, he got sick and just quite hasn't recovered haha but yeah Friday morning i woke up with a fever and the desire to throw up! We went out to work and after like 20 minutes, i turned to my companion and told him, "Elder we gotta go back to the house" haha so yeah we went back and I just laid in bed... which is not fun and especially for my companion! we did leave to go eat lunch and after lunch, i felt a little better to where i could work but after the first door we knocked, i went over to the side of the road and just threw up all the food we had just ate. Elder Lopez gave me a blessing and the next morning I was ready to go again!!
Just barley in the comida, I ate SOO much. I think the sister was trying to kill us! i cant even sit up straight to type.. i gotta lean back a little in the chair haha.
So I don't know what happened this year but there was like two or three cold days. Last year I remember suffering from the cold and so thats why I wanted my carhart jacket so bad but this year there wasn't any cold, and I ain't complains because the cold here is awful but yeah I haven't really needed my jacket... right now it is so hot! Reynosa is hotter than Matamoros! Its dryer and more dusty. I think its more dangerous too! I had only heard two or three shootings in all my mission and the second day here, we heard one!
The presidency of area mexico called Presidente Morales and congratulated us for our success and they asked him if they could do anything for us and he asked for two things:
1. that we can go to the temple with our converters and
2. That an apostle comes here to visit the mission!!
